More Peaceful -including Animals

India is vibrant and colorful - but some of the things I liked best were the quietest and most peaceful.

A donkey cart very early in the morning beside the road between Agra and Delhi.

A large puppy who wanted to be my pal at a lunch stop on the way to Bikaner. He had a very cheerful character. I think he would be very bored in New York.

The sheep and the goats.

Late afternoon in Mandawa. A young woman is driving the cows home.

Evening sky. Mandawa.

  2. ooooh More good stuff! I loved the first photo. Send that to Nat Geographic and ask for a lot of money for it, lol. Love the doggie too. So great to be seeing what you saw, though I so loved reading when you couldn't post pix as well.

  9. Thanks for sharing your trip. I agree with the others that the donkey cart is the winner, but I also like the lady in the bright sari driving home the cows.

  11. It is good to see quiet, rural India. My friend went to Calcutta recently and hated the noise and the pollution - your photographs show a different side completely. I shall show them to her.

  12. Sydney led me to your blog, and I'm glad she did! You have captured the essence of India, which is mostly still rural. I love this side of India too, and wish it wouldn't be under attack from indiscriminate "development"!

  16. That donkey and cart photo is just fantastic! Perhaps a Donkey and Cart from India to keep the Donkey and Cart from Marrakesh company? Yes, Robert? ;)
