Yellow/Downtown

School buses are yellow, taxis are yellow, and so are water taxis - which I have never been on though they look fun.
On bike rides we often end up at South Street Seaport - a very touristy place but whatever.

Here you can take a water taxi to IKEA - the center of the known universe. I think this is an exaggeration - but that's what advertising is all about. It makes me want to join the queues of happy shoppers heading across the East River.

You can see all of the waterfalls and to Governor's Island.........

In a shop window, an alternative form of yellow transportation.

  1. I've never been on a water taxi, either, but I hear they are a great way to tour the city. One of these days, when it gets just a bit cooler, we should go biking in Central Park together, Elizabeth. That would fun, wouldn't it? :)

  2. This looks like fun.
I do question the 'center of the universe" thing, though :-)

  4. I'm going to have to catch one of those water taxis.

Seems worth the fare just for the photo ops!

  5. I think you should make a day of it and water taxi over to Ikea.

  6. The city can be so visually overwhelming... I love this idea of focusing on one color at a time!

  7. I'd like to take a water taxi just for the fun of the experience. As for IKEA, they have their own bus that picks up people for free from a nearby subway station in Toronto and transports them straight to and from their store.....

  8. A bit of yellow is very cheering today -- although school buses are not the most cheerful association!

Thick gray cloud has been pressing down on us all day in Blighty.
