In Search of Yellow

The weather has been really dreary this week.

Yesterday it snowed (see above) but the flakes didn't stick.

So herewith a week's worth of yellow.....

and construction workers on the same. (I said I was a tourist!)

Then to the English shop

 on Hudson Street where there were pies....

and  a cool window display. ( I'd never realized how often  yellow is used in packaging.)

Wet May

After an absurdly hot late April, it has reverted: rain and more rain.

The woman on the bus in front of me was dressed for the dead of winter.

Puddles reflected newly leafed branches.

Armfuls of lilac at the green market at Union Square and this curiously

 retro stall selling somewhat healthy cookies.

Somehow a hint of patchouli about it.

It rained in the evening too, and the taxis swished over wet pavement.

Real English weather.

I rather enjoyed it.

Yellow/Downtown

School buses are yellow, taxis are yellow, and so are water taxis - which I have never been on though they look fun.
On bike rides we often end up at South Street Seaport - a very touristy place but whatever.



Here you can take a water taxi to IKEA - the center of the known universe. I think this is an exaggeration - but that's what advertising is all about. It makes me want to join the queues of happy shoppers heading across the East River.
