Bloggers Unite

A sultry Sunday afternoon.
A good excuse to meet bloggers in the real world. Here we all are at Le Pain Quotidien in ABC Carpet - where I'm sure lots of the salads have arugala in them. We make friends immediately.
Ming the Merciless (who sounds terrifying but, in fact, is very charming) organized the little get together.
What unites us is that we love blogging and are unabashedly liberal. This blog is not about politics at all, but I really enjoy one of our number's thepalinator.blogspot.com

After lunch what would be better than a 'little lie-down'? Here is the fainting couch all ready in ABC window.
A question, if this couch was actually in my house would I be able to resist the urge to get it properly upholstered? Looks very artistic in its current state. A close up shows the amazing pillows.

Tea sets to remind me of Morocco...............

As an anti-climax I go home on the bus - my favorite mode of NYC transportation.
In blogging mode, I cannot resist taking a picture at the bus stop. (Corner of 23rd Street and 5th Avenue.)

Bloggers at the lunch included:
Ming ( as above)
Lisa of Gramercycafe.blogspot.com
Alexa of theroadismine.blogspot.com
Chuck Pefley who had flown in from Seattle
Eliane of nyc-daily-photo.com
Lori of MissBinnyc.blogspot.com

  2. It's great to meet up with blogging buddies in the real world. Sounds like a wonderful day you ladies had.

I finally purchased 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' today. I'm looking forward to burying my nose in it shortly :)

  3. If I had a chaise like that in my bedroom, it will most likely be filled with clothes. :-)

Good to see you again. We will have to organize something soon.

  4. Oh, I do like to meet fellow bloggers! I bet there was lots satisfying political discussion.

I am fascinated by the interconnecting circles/webs that grow between blogging friends.

BTW, that silver tea set reminds me of a miniature one that my daughter received as a baby present. It actually has to be polished -- which is not really what you want in a child's toy!

  5. Me, too! I'm green with envy. I would have loved to have been there, too. I was...in spirit. ;^)

  6. Hi Elizabeth... great meetup yesterday.

Nice photos of the fainting couch and ABC interiors.

It is fun getting together with liberals. I work with a staunch Republican conservative and we're always going at each other.... just for fun, of course.

  9. I am even wondering if there was some arugula on my waffle! ;)

It was very nice to meet you Elizabeth and to discover your lovely blog. So glad you posted the link to the "infamous" blog - I had forgotten its name.

  10. ming -- I do (have such a chaise) and it usually is. That's what they're really for, you know. Nobody faints much anymore, but we all have way too much clothing.
Elizabeth -- photo's definitely better than that passport snap I handed over today, but not sure it's exactly cash-prize worthy!
Love your teapots shot! (I tried later, and a young man immediately appeared at my side, saying, "Umm, excuse me, ma'am . . .")

  12. How great to get together with fellow bloggers...especially if you all share certain views in common - that always makes for a really fun party!

But I also like it that, even if certain views are not shared in common, there are so many other things to enjoy via all of our blogs...beauty, architecture, food, color, art, poetry, and each other!

Have a safe trip...or maybe, by now, you are already across the pond.
