Taking a Breather

I took the sparkly cloth off the table and washed lots of sheets and towels.
The apartment is bare again.
I washed the sea shells which live in the Moroccan bowl
and threw out some stale chocolate brownies.
Whew!

p.s my chum Maryam of My Marrakesh is runner up to get a prize. Go to her wonderful blog for a look at a most exotic world. I miss it a lot. (sigh).

  1. We were doing the same kinds of things yesterday. I had a mountain of linens to wash. And I froze all the leftover goodies and chocolate. The tree, however, is still waiting for me in the living room. Maybe tomorrow.

    Your shells are lovely.

your word verification is "plellyg"...has a pleasant ring to it :^)

  2. I am in the final stages of "holiday decor removal". I threw away all the junk food over the weekend and I am very glad to get back to clean, uncluttered living.

  6. I so appreciate seeing the world, Manhatten and your corner of it through your eyes. I still have holiday stuff to put away. (the studio, day job, life have interviened.)When I do, my collection of glass floats will come out. Perhaps I will take a photo for my blog.

  14. I think that was the story of all our lives yesterday - epiphany - put away all the decorations and then feel as though the whole place is bare. Don't worry, it won't seem five minutes before they are all coming out again next Christmas!

  15. Really like the piece of sea glass. Glad holidays are over so we can get back to some kind of real life.

  18. I like it when the house is bare again and all the RED is gone. Today is the 12th day of Christmas. I guess I should take down the Christmas tree tonight.

  21. Well, those shells look so pretty. Somehow, I think of shells in summer, so seeing them in January is a delight.

Now. How is it possible that one would have stale chocolate brownies hanging around the house. The is incomprehensible to me! Just now finishing off the supply of chocolate almond biscotti.

  26. I haven't even started with the corner of my kitchen which still overflows with leftover Xmas goodies! The washing machine is going, though . . .

    Those shells exude freshness.

  27. It is good to spend time on those jobs that don't normally get done. When I got in from work tonight I put on a wash then spent a productive 10 minutes sorting out the ever growing pile of bits of newspapers that I must read. I even read one of them.
    Love the pretty shells.
