Sunday in the Park with .........Everyone

After a wet and blustery Saturday, Sunday dawned fine.
So we went to the park - along with almost everyone else in town.

The young man just learning to walk.....

And the young woman taking photographs.........

The architectural bits are very picture -skew as one of our children used to say.

I don't think the swan was very impressed by these two young girls and their dogs.

The park is a good place to read the paper.......

.............or play music........

..........but most people wandered about.........

.........and eventually had to go home.

ps. this entry goes against my usual principles. I try to keep them to 5 pictures or fewer.
Since I have the attention span of a flea, I get tired reading long, long posts.
Once someone posted a list of 100 things she intended to do........I lasted about 15.....
Obviously, blogs are utterly personal and we all have very different tastes.
Thoughts?

  2. Sunday was beautiful and I love that you captured all the people trying to take it all in.

As far as blogs go, I like all kinds. I like long and short, pictures and no pictures, family-centered and not so much, intellectual or just silly. I love variety.

  3. These were lovely pictures, so I didn't get bored, but I know what you mean. I try to keep mine short and sweet. I always find myself skimming through bloggers' long posts, without actually reading them. (shh, don't tell)

  6. Haha...Elizabeth, I just posted a LONG one and was wondering if anyone will fall asleep reading my post, but do forgive me, I am a lazy blogger as I cramp everything into one post, instead of a few posts..maybe I should :D However, I love love pictures as I can see many without any problems...as long as it's not reading pages off Shakespeare on one post. Beautiful outing for sure :D

  7. I would so love to be in NYC and have the ability to visit the park. We have another gorgeous day here. I was thinking of Grandma. I should give her a call, but it makes me kind of sad. Love you and Uncle R.

  8. Fabulous photos, I love posts with lots of photos. I so agree with you about attention span, I have none either, that is why my posts are usually quite short, and on one subject. I so enjoyed seeing Sunday in the Park, yesterday we had the rain, today we have sunshine just like this. My granny used to say picture-skew too! x

  9. I like the idea of everyone rushing outdoors to catch the sun . . . the photograph of all of men on the bench particulary amused me.

As for post length, I am feeling a little worried that mine are on the long and boring side! But I mostly agree with Alyson: it depends. I'm sure we could all do with judicious editing.

  11. I like this blog. I really enjoyed looking at folk enjoying themselves in Central Park. A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say!

  12. I'm not usually tolerant of pictures unless they are of your quality! I'm afraid I'm guilty of being a bit too prolix in my blog, though even I would baulk at 100 things to do! But then I don't do pictures!

  13. I agree-- I tend to like shorter posts. One reason being it hurts my eyes to read on-screen too long. But it is interesting to see what people make of their blogs...

  16. I presume this is Central Park! We went there once but we'd both just had all our travel documents stolen (in Florida) so it's all a bit of a blur. Sometimes I love lingering over blogs; sometimes I dash through them. So all are welcome.

  17. Gorgeous pictures, I'm longing for a beautiful day in Central Park now, the main thing I miss about not living in the city.

I don't mind lots of photos with captions such as this post, it tells a wonderful story. What I don't like is so much text that I have to scroll, scroll, scroll. I don't have the attention span either. Short and snappy, paragraph or two is best

  18. My thoughts are that my long-winded posts must send you into a deep deep sleep ;)

The park pics are lovely. I wish I could hear the music the man on the bench was playing. He looks so happy. It may even been awful music but at least it makes him happy playing it :)

Oh look at that! Even my comments are long-winded. Wakey wakey! Hope you're having a great week :)

  20. Lovely photos of this pretty park.
I'm with you on the short posts although lots of photos I quite enjoy. A long written post - not so much :)

  21. I prefer to keep it short...but when it's pics of the park, I could scroll down for hours. Thanks for bringing me old memories of NY in the fall.

  22. Ah, I must take the train in a go to Central Park soon to get soem photos of the trees before they lose their leaves! It seems the trees all turned in one weekend -- they were all green here in Brooklyn last week and now are all ablaze.
