Questions

All sorts of ugly plastic boxes give away brochures.

This one is for the Gotham Writers' Workshop. Oddly, I do think writing is sexy, well, not the writing itself, but the brains that go into it. If the writing is interesting of course......

I really, really want this bird (hiding Waldo-like) to be a mocking bird. Anyone know?

A late pizza lunch in Soho. I asked these cheerful girls if I could take their photo as they looked very 'New-Yorky'. They said: "Oh, we're from London too!"

The new Linda McCartney photo book on display at Taschen, Soho.
An amazing walk down memory lane for those who grew up in the sixties and early 70's.
Highly recommended.

  3. They say sex sells. But that's the first time I've seen the act of writing called sexy. But, as you say, the writer and the results are another matter.

The pizza girls photo is a beauty. Love the colors. Love the enthusiasm.

Will have to look for the photo book. Bet they won't be able to make that work well in a little e-book format. Real Books Rule!

  5. Elizabeth, I'm so glad you visited Smiling Heart today, giving me the chance to come over and find this beautiful blog!

I spent several happy summers in NYC while my daughter studied ballet with ABT, and adored it...well, all but the hot sticky rides on the subway.

Thank you for this walk around town that certainly brought back many fond memories. Please do keep them coming.

  7. According to "Birds of North America", this appears to be a mockingbird. General grey coloring,
eye markings, but mostly that telltale (whoops,an unexpected pun)
shape of tail feathers. Mockingbirds like to sit high up and sing their songs.
Also congrats to Claudia on the book

  9. Reminds me of when one ask someone who looks like a resident how to get somewhere and they always say, "Oh I am not from around here!"
