Questions

All sorts of ugly plastic boxes give away brochures.

This one is for the Gotham Writers' Workshop. Oddly, I do think writing is sexy, well, not the writing itself, but the brains that go into it. If the writing is interesting of course......

I really, really want this bird (hiding Waldo-like) to be a mocking bird. Anyone know?

A late pizza lunch in Soho. I asked these cheerful girls if I could take their photo as they looked very 'New-Yorky'. They said: "Oh, we're from London too!"

The new Linda McCartney photo book on display at Taschen, Soho.
An amazing walk down memory lane for those who grew up in the sixties and early 70's.
Highly recommended.

Colors to Delight

Friday spent wandering around......

Flowers in the garden of La Mamounia the wonderfully posh hotel where Winston Churchill stayed long, long ago.....and where we did not stay....

Cushions on the roof of riad Rimal where our friend Ismail now works

Even the street signs have a certain  shabby-chic charm.

The villa in the grounds of the Jardin Majorelle is painted.......bleu majorelle ---how could one guess!

The tea shop in the same place.....

The rood of riad Rimal......hindi or cactus fruit of a lovely plum color.

In the evening, when it turned chilly, we sat by the wood fire.

...not to mention the fruit juice......

 ...the pot pourri

 and the lanterns.

last of all, a cat in the fruit market who is about to produce lots of little cats any minute...
this photo is for Joan Rundo who makes super cat calendars every year!

Wandering Round London

The weather very dreary for May, so an umbrella a useful item to tote about.
Instead of a brolly, I carry my camera to observe: people walking to work
on Morocco Street near London Bridge......

....three business types round the back of St. Martin-in-the-Fields passing
a woman who looks as if she is camped there for the day.....

....four people in rain jackets emerging out of the Underground at Paddington Station....
(The roof of the station still gives me a sort of sinking feeling
that reminds me of going back to school from here several million years ago.)

.....Five workmen (one partially obscured) doing important things to the refurbishment

Such absurdly ornate architecture!

Yesterday evening we followed a woman and her two little dogs as walked to supper.

And, yes, I did gawp, tourist-like, at Tower Bridge before we ate.
And it was very splendid.

And it was still splendid after I had eaten yummy steak and kidney pie.
Lots and lots more pictures (of course).......
