Almost Thanksgiving

I went to Dean and Delucca in Soho yesterday to buy olives.

The cashier was very cheerful there too.

These birds caught my eye in a rather crunchy granola looking shop.

As did this little, real bird hopping round in the drizzle.
A pleasant surprise when I got home....

........a  package of presents from India, via Norway.

Look at the astounding richness of the purple in the scarf!

  4. You continue to show New York at its very best - and to emphasise that it is not a big, impersonal place. Love the cops! and the purple!

Lovely stuff from Britt, and that's Lord Ganesha in the picture, a well worshipped Indian deity. Absolutely beautiful scraf, love the colour.

  15. I just mailed off some bright scarves . . . your purple one looks sumptuous.

Do the people look so happy because you've just made them laugh, or because they are getting a holiday tomorrow?

  21. I often pass the silver store on 9th street. Recently, I learned that silver plate is more marketable than solid silver items. Amazing! I have lived in the States since the 1960s and now in the East Village since 2003. As a Brit, my interest in silver is because I inherited it and love to use the cutlery on a daily basis.
