Donkey who is Happy but Expecting to Work

This post is for Jennifer and Frank and Christine who have all posted wonderful pictures of donkeys. Maybe donkeys are celebrating too...

This donkey lives in our bedroom and takes up a whole wall because he is life sized.
He was painted by Robert when we lived in Morocco.
He is patient and realizes that he has lots and lots of work to do.
But I think he's pretty happy today.

This donkey lives near derb Djedid. He likes eating things.......
I feel sorry that donkeys in Morocco don't have names like Neddy or Maisie.
Apparently they are just called 'the donkey'.

  8. Rather disconcerting! To have a life-sized donkey in the bedroom! It should be Cupids!

  13. I walked through all your pictures, all the way back to Halloween. I love Robert's painting, the golden colour in your New York world all over, the rainy day views and reflections, the volunteer pumpkin,
in short, each and every image! Thanks for sharing your world with us, makes me feel so good, to get glimpses from the other side of the pond! :-)

  15. I spent some time in Marrakech a few years ago.l My hotal balcony looked down on the road leading to Djma-el-fna (hope spelling is correct!) and by five o'clock each morning the street was alive with donkeys pulling carts piled high with crates of fruit and vegetables. I felt so sorry for them. One day I went to a village where there was a market and there was a donkey "park" just like where we would leave our cars. These were donkeys which carried their owners and I ust say most of them looked well looked after. You must have see such things at close quarters for a long time when you were in Morocco. Regards
