Dapple

Above a door on 22nd Street

rather a lovely golden apple......of the Hesperides or THE BIG APPLE
who knows?

Dappled shade in a much improved Union Square

and more of the same.

A nice juxtaposition of country wildflowers and the urban.....

and a bouquet celebrating summer.

  3. The simple little jar of flowers is my favourite pic. A wee bit of cheer in an unexpected location.

  5. Your views of the big apple are so much more cheery and friendly than what is shown on the hours and hours of crime shows on television.

  6. Elizabeth, I have somehow got three days of Independence ahead, and so look forward to seeing the beautiful outdoor summer light.

I'll have to find out what might already be on offer at the Union Sq. farmers market, and make many other stops around town.

Think that I might give the fireworks a miss this year. That's another type of light altogether.

  8. Beautiful photographs .. and I have to agree and empathise with Sara as I love the word 'dapple' and the combination 'dappled shade'. I always wanted a dappled horse. Of course I never owned a horse at all .... only imaginary ones!

  9. I've got no deeds to do,
    No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all it's petals on me.
    Life, I love you,
    All is groovy.

That was Simon and Garfunkel's 59th Bridge song 'Feeling Groovy'

Like Sara, i love the word dappled shade. But i have never used it. Today i'll go to a park with my friend and tell her that we are walking through dappled shades ?

We are having very severe and harsh summer Elizabeth but i am not complaining, there are so many things to be thankful for. It is raining today thankfully.

    Lovely pictures as always.
Life, i love you, all is groovy in New York.
