Better yet, our friend Preston Trombly has an opening at The New Century Artists Gallery at 530 West 25th Street. The show is on until January 3rd. As well as painting, Preston is a presenter on Sirius Satellite Radio.
My photos do a pitiful job capturing the exquisite color and textured richness of the pieces and the interplay of reality and shadow. You will have to go to see them in the flesh.
Galleries - a fine way to look and see.
ReplyDeleteThe art is so colorful and pretty! I love Chelsea, it is truly one the nicest neighborhoods in New York. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteI miss visiting the art galleries and museums. I have in the past spent a fair bit of time in NY and Mass, doing just that. Thanks for the virtual tour, and for visiting my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that art in the gallery - wish I could pop in and see it. Colour looks saturated and quite thrilling.
ReplyDeleteWonderful...I just love art of all kinds. This was a fun post! Look at all those colors...scrumptious! Happy week, Elizabeth ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI love the bouquet of flowers in front of the art and also the pic of the gallerista checking his inventory
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun evening. Camels with glitter sound good too, hope you show them.....of course you can add me, I am honored :~)
ReplyDeleteFun ... on the way to meet you we passed a cafe with a man sitting in the window eating a donut.. Husband said: That would make a good blog shot.
ReplyDeleteUmm, once an editor always an editor

J'aime beaucoup tes photos!
ReplyDeleteNY has such a wealth of galleries and art. Sigh. You lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteHello Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteHasn't winter really blown into our City?
Last week, or was it the week before, I made a quick trip over to the Chelsea gallery area to see a show featuring a friend. Of course, by now I have lost the scrap of paper with the note of the address.
All the same, glad I got there before this week's chill set in!
(Still trying to find the quiet hours, along with the pot of tea, to read your book. I just love looking at the cover, and thinking about the story within.)
Crazy busy, dealing with not so much business ... does that make sense?
xo
Congrats to your friend on his opening.

I always give myself a pat on the back when I venture out in this cold weather and what a better excuse than going to the Chelsea Galleries!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go gallery hopping here too :D
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that people are still buying art . . . although, come to think of it, you've only implied "hopping" and "looking."
ReplyDeleteI'm very taken with the name "Preston Trombly."
Christmas in New York last year - best ever! The galleries, book stores, delis, skaters in Central Park......the list goes on. A fairytale.
ReplyDeleteArt is always been seen in person, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteA great way to spent your time. I love colours There seems to be heaps of colourful art here
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to spend a winters day.
