Drab and Bright

It isn't exactly against the law to wear bright colors in the city. It just sometimes seems like it.

However, there are those who didn't get the memo

or are brave enough to be bright

golden

or defiantly retro.

If you are a cat, you can hang out in a flowerpot with
an admiring audience snapping your picture.

If you are a leaf you might enjoy your last days of attachment.

Random picture of  a fire hydrant

and some stuff in the gutter.

  1. I actually like that gutter picture...not that I'm asking you to frequent all the gutters in the City just to take pictures for me!

  3. Lovely to hear from you, Elizabeth!

I'm so pleased you're coming along to our "Christmas Party" and I think those lovely little Elf hats could make a super "Secret Santa" gift.

I'll let you know who your virtual gift recipient will be nearer the time.

  4. Are the people in the first photograph all watching a bright clothes parade.

  5. Interesting how different environments seem to have their own standards when it comes to color of clothing. Outfits that looks so normal in one place look so weird somewhere else.

  6. All are brilliant photos to show us New York. As you know, on the West Coast, bright and color is in. All the time.

  7. Elizabeth, I've been wearing my red sweaters a lot in the past two weeks. With my usual black canvas, of course. xo

  8. SO enjoyed this stroll in Manhattan.

Monochrome black blue gray still rules I see. Here we do tend to bright-wear LOL.

    Flowerpot kitty WHAT A CATCH!
I'm still smiling, thanks for sharing it.

  13. Nice - I noticed for years New Yorkers always liked dull clothes, but bright painted faces.

  16. Someone at work made a comment to me about how much color I wear, and how everyone in the city wears black. I was very embarassed. I never thoguht much about it. Ever since, I've been trying to modify my wardrobe because she implied that it was more professional to wear only dark colors.

Love the flower pot kitty :)
