Winter Wardrobe/New York Fashion

As has so often been pointed out, New Yorkers, on the whole, shun colors.

See the chilly pigeons above near the West Side Highway

and the people waiting for the bus on 23rd Street.

However, there are always bold individualists  -- at the dog park

near Macy's

 and inside Macy's itself.

  1. Thank goodness for the bold individualists! I don't know which sight I enjoyed the most, but they all made me smile.

  6. The lady with the red coat and striped socks looks like she could tell great stories. I like her already. Fun to see the contrast between the New York uniform and the fearless individuals.

  13. It is sheer enjoyment to see how others live ... and living not in America but in Spain it is a treat to see the sights. I always feel that somehow I have visited, mainly as the photographs are so good.

  15. I think the lady in red was keen to be noticed or she had to wear a Christmas present!

I have had an American say to me that Londoners dress very quietly in black but I think they must have been observing the city rather than generally.
