23rd Street

In the morning, when most people are heading to work, I take the dog for a walk.

On the other side of the road, the bank employees are waiting to be let in

as the taxis rush past.

They are already at work on the brownstone next to the Leo House

all flapping tarps and ghostly lights at night.

On 22nd Street the Virginia creeper catches the light.

The M23 holds the record for the slowest bus in Manhattan.

True indeed. Obviously one hasn't been for ages and ages.

  1. Black and white is so elegant. You have changed Virginia creeper from a dancing gypsy to a waiting bride.

  2. I love that first bus queue shot! Wonderful figure in the foreground and the people waiting in such an orderly fashion are each a story in themselves. Love the clarity of the black and white.

  5. I agree with the prior comments that NYC looks very fine in black and white.

I agree with your view that the M23 is in the shortlist for slowest bus route, though I would like to put in a vote for the M5 (great when it finally arrives, but oh what a wait.)

  7. These are fantastic in that they are in black and white and remind me of old American movies.

I also love the compostion and reflections that you have captured, besides 'life as it is' there.
