Trailer Park

Trailer Park on 23rd Street celebrates the worst/best excesses of American kitsch. "Where do they get this stuff?" Robert asked.
"Probably like in the TV show 'Pickers'."

It's all so selfconsciously awful: the cracked vinyl kitchen chair,
the retro TV, the bowling stuff, the velvet Elvises.
I'm not sure whether to be amused or appalled.

What has happened to poor Marilyn's teeth?

The little hula girl looks pretty friendly though.

The giveaway continues on my other blog  in conjunction with Susanna Gordon. susannassketchbook.typepad.com

    i LOVE
    when i spot it

    speak of it
    disparagingly...

  6. I think this stuff must come from Texas. Oh, I just saw that somepinkflowers is in general agreement. I see stuff like this all the time and for much cheaper than what it costs in NYC, I'm sure. No desire to be a picker, though.

  7. I've come in from Come Sit by my Fire. Love to get a glimpse of New York. I'm a small town girl, intrigued by big cities. The junk, however, is produced everywhere.
