May

Time for Japanese irises  on Long Island

And always time to go to the green market at Union Square.

A good hunting ground for aging hippies and green type people. (Include me in!)

Ramps looking swirly

and ranunculus looking vivid.

So very pretty!

Who knew that radishes had flowers?!

Union Square, as ever, a flower lovers’ paradise.

  1. It's such a good thing that there are flowers to look forward to after a long dark winter. You are blessed to have such a sumptuous and plentiful market to feed the heart and soul as well as body. My Japanese iris and poppies are also blooming. Hooray!

  2. Now that's what I call a smorgasbord for the eyes. I've planted radish for more than thirty years and have never seen them flower. Beautiful.

  4. Elizabeth, the little beauty in the cloche is a true beauty.

The Union Sq market seems to at last be moving beyond root veg and apples...a time to celebrate. Hope to visit there again with you soon. I imagine that everyone seeing your swell photos will wish they could also easily visit this brilliant market.
