Much neglected blog!
Anyway, back in New York and hanging out in a part of town I’m not usually in.
A brand new building on 42nd Street called MiMA the venue of a Saatchi art show that Robert was in. Fabulous views over the Hudson to New Jersey - with the Intrepid on the right.
Looking down was rather unnerving. Spot the little church with dwarfed spires nestling in the shadows.
Looking north made the little buildings look like Lego building blocks.
The views at night were extra dramatic - the Intrepid again on the upper right...
and everything twinkly and magical.
One of Robert’s paintings of another, more classic, high rise building!
The last photo taken out of an open window looking directly downwards onto 42nd Street.
I’m still feeling dizzy!
Nice view, especially to a farm girl. I don''t think you could get me near the edge of the building to take those pictures.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was a bit scared and got vertigo - then it seemed to get a bit better. Especially when they opened the window a crack for fresh air!
DeleteWonderful post today.
ReplyDeleteRobert's painting next to your photo views is so interesting.
The views looking down are very magical nothing that tall or crowded here in Tucson.
cheers, parsnip
Slight relief that the show is now over and I can stay on my nice comfortable 4th floor!
DeleteWarmest greetings.
Very dramatic views, Elizabeth...but I think I will now go have a little lie down. xo
ReplyDeleteYes, very dizzy -making! went to Union Square this morning and it was VERY VERY chilly!
DeleteIt's so nice to see you posting here again!! Love the photos as usual. I think I'm developing a fear of heights as I'm getting older!! Be safe the next few days. It looks like there's another possible storm for next weekend but it's too early to tell at this point. Let's get thru this one first!! xo

Yes, I’m glad to be back on my own floor - the 4th!
DeleteGosh, yes, much too much snow predicted.
Hope we all survive it without too much difficulty!
Came across your blogs via Janelle's. Enjoyed your lovely shots of both Morocco and NYC.
