Glad I'm not out in it.
So very clear and bright.
All the English blogs are full of lovely and amazing pictures.
I delight in looking at them.
Here the garden of the Jarvis House on Long Island.
All that wretched snow still lying around.
A chilly doorway in Huntington, Long Island.
I seem to recall complaining about a freakish amount of snow in late December. Yesterday and today, well, sunny and mild, temp 55 degrees. Gray skies are returning tomorrow. I'm crossing fingers our winter is mostly over.
ReplyDeleteBut it is pretty. And snowing in England, too.
ReplyDeleteOur 12 or so inches has melted down to six, but I still love it. Far from wretched in my little wintery book. It's ten degrees here this morning!
ReplyDeleteOf course you're sick of it! And of the cold. Below 20 is so uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteMay spring come quickly to New York, even though the groundhog bit Mayor Bloomberg!
Like you elizabeth as far as snow is concerned I am bored, bored, bored.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You're getting bored, huh? I don't blame you. I've injured my foot and it's a pain to get around in this snowy, icy weather. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHave a good one.

But you are going to India soon, where you will be bathed in sunlight. Sigh. TAKE ME WITH YOU!
ReplyDeleteSorry you are still freezing. I can sympathise now we have it too!
ReplyDeleteIts COLD and the streets can be icy so walk carefully ...
ReplyDeleteMe too! Though snow pictures are always beautiful. They're saying it will get up into the 50's this weekend!
ReplyDelete(Word V: "Debrand." Hmmm... interesting advice...)
Chilly doorways...your captures look stark and defined.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth I hope you can participate in the photo tag.(check Oasis blog, please)
It does look arctic, but I do love the sharp shapes and strong shadows.
ReplyDeletestupidly cold - excellent sentiment
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those verdigris doors are very cold to the touch, but they are beautiful. English schoolchildren (and some parents) are hoping for another great dump of snow tonight! And btw, I'm musing about "M." Thank the letter oracle for Me!
ReplyDeleteYes, the cold just wears us out. snow is a beautiful thing, quiets the streets, makes things seem what they are not. BUT the cold that goes with it is just undoing. I am so looking forward to a hyper energy filled WARM spring!
ReplyDeleteHang in!
brrrr...it does look awfully cold but awfully crisp, chilly and beautiful too!! great pics as always. just LOVE this blog. such a treat for me. you take me into NYC...THANKS! xxx j
ReplyDeleteYeah, bored and cold. Been trying to be positive. Now POSITIVE I am sick of it.
ReplyDeleteOh Elizabeth, I look at your photos and think: Look, she has SUN! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like the doors Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteGosh it's cold there but not much snow. I guess you heard about our snow from your daughter.
Do come see what we got up to.
Sounds to me like you and R need to go off to someplace warm. We too are getting tired of cold and snow but we will have the snow until at least March. We are above freezing today, which is like heaven here in North Dakota in February.
ReplyDeleteCheryl
You might be getting bored of winter, but I’m not tiring of your winter shots. Isn’t it a luxury not to have to go out for work on days that are too bitter? We are still knee deep in old snow and more where it has drifted but at least the sun was shining today.
ReplyDeleteNot bored of winter. Love looking at pics of winter. Because....I'm not there! (I do miss it, though.)
ReplyDeleteI recall that last winter, the driveway only needed shoveling once. Not so this year. I spent much of the morning removing it from the driveway . . . again. This, before things get really cold tonight, turning it all into solid ice.
ReplyDeleteBored of winter. Yes.
xo
That Huntington doorway brings to mind some kind of darkish undefined beastie by Edward Gorey sloping enigmatically out of the frame.
ReplyDeleteYour boredom,
ReplyDeleteMy delight!

ReplyDeleteI'm getting bored for the winter and my city Hamburg too!I hope soon will be spring and than I hope I have more positive thoughts!
