For some reason (unknown to me) they keep digging up Union Square.
I wish they would stop already.
Snacks at a friend's apartment. The carpet sort of echoes the fence above.
Madison Square Park from the bus. Very bare branches here still.
A charming child who attended a family party.
Cool composition in the first shot. The square theme is fun – it makes you see how different every image is.
ReplyDeleteYour friend’s view in the post below is beyond stunning, as are your photos. I can’t imagine getting anything done in that apartment – I’d just watch the view like a widescreen movie.
I hope you get some peace and quiet with a bright sun later.
yes union square is a mess. what will it look like when it's done? unrecognizable i'm sure...
ReplyDeleteI love the first shot,
ReplyDeletebut I am totally smitten by the second one, a true masterpiece! The colors, the patterns, the surprising angle. And then that sweet innocence, now I am melting. ;-)
Glorious reds against the pattern of the carpet - that has to be one of my favourites!
ReplyDeletewhat is the deal with all the digging going on in Manhattan? I see the construction workers digging most of the times, and don't see any end-results. I loved the second pic. The Red flowers atop the brown neutral carpet look stunning.
ReplyDeleteYou are very observant! I love all the pinks in the second shot. We are still bare here in England too.
ReplyDeleteThe second photo evokes shades of Morroco!
ReplyDeleteUnion Sq seems to have been under construction forever ... nice shots!
ReplyDeleteLOL! it seems that every town/city has a place that is constantly under construction - we have a couple pieces of highway that never seem to be finished - year after year!
ReplyDeleteI like your first shot of the construction. Looks like you are about to get a slight mooning from the guy on the right. ;^)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. It is such fun to see NYC through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet baby girl...I am all into baby girls now that I have a brand new Granddaughter :)
Thank you for the Soup Dumpling restaurant name...we will try it out.
Union Square? The rumour is that it's the Donald again!
ReplyDeleteCorrection - I'm fired! It's a City of New York Parks and Recreation project, scheduled to be finished by Fall 2009. I love the patterns.
