Her sitting room has curved windows...
...from which you can see almost the whole of Manhattan, both rivers and across into New Jersey and Long Island. Here is the Chrysler Building.
Here we look down onto the entrance to the Midtown Tunnel. How well I know the poster on the upper right. (It is for British Airways.)
Both of the towers are lit up at night but we see them from the other side.
How dramatic are the tall towers.
Such views!! Those curved windows offer a great expanse to see...Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth! Happy week :o) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteCan't quite imagine living on the 48th floor...but what wonderful city views.
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures! I wish I had views like these although I do seem quite a bit of London from my windows, not bad at all :-) seems you guys have great weather these days.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lucky friend!
ReplyDeleteAh, a safe way to view. My vertigo would prevent me seeing this for real, so I thank you, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteKat
Wow! I love NY and would love to live in this space. Simply Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking!! wow
ReplyDeleteIt is a powerful perspective and a good perch for thinking.
ReplyDeleteI love those curved windows. I wish I lived somewhere that had such amazing views. Problem is, I may never venture out of the house if I did have views like that!
ReplyDeleteThat has to be even more spectacular at night when the city lights up
ReplyDeleteA glorious aerial tour of Manhatten, Elizabeth. A towering cityscape it is; quite different from the spires and turrets and holy domes of London.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, Elizabeth! How does M ever get any housework done?
ReplyDeletedizzy-ing!
ReplyDeleteMuch better view than I get from Google Earth. :D. NYC is SO different from rural Idaho. Even more stacked up and compact than big cities like Seattle or L.A. Thanks for sharing your photos!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos! Where to next....I am hooked! Janus
ReplyDeleteI enlarged the photos and found them stunning! Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteWow your friend has some stunning views to contemplate! I have only been as high as the 19th floor in a building(a block of flats in Woolwich-for a parent interview-I was much more interested in the view than the interview!)and that was a pretty good view. I like to visit but don't think I could live up that high. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteIt has just occurred to me that I was more interested in the outerview than the interview-ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are fantastic views! I am not sure I would survive living up that high, though. I am a total 'fraidy cat when it comes to heights.
ReplyDeleteYes, a totally dramatic amazing place - I saw it from the tunnel exit this morning on the way back from visiting R.'s mother on LI.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest it was quite high for me - but very thrilling.
Wow, wow, wow! Fancy living all the way up there, with such magnificent views?!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful skyline indeed.
Wow what a stunning view, Elizabeth! Your friend is certainly not afraid of heights...:-) Your photos came out so clear and sharp...amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your particpation over at Oasis. It's wonderful to have an opinion of someone who has direct experience of the problem. Abundant affection to you <3
I do love New York! I am due for a visit, just waiting for it to warm up a bit and then it is off to Magnolias for a cupcake! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Great pics and I envy that view, how wonderful to get to enjoy that everyday....Barb
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh great pictures Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteYour friend M has a lovely apartment, but I don't think I could live there even for a day! I really feel weird when I'm in such heights, I really couldn't live that high up.
I prefer a little modest house, firmly glued to the ground :o)
wow! now that is a great view!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, your pictures are stunning! What a great view over New York! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGood grief! YOU're not kidding about her view! Can you imagine what it looks like at night? To have dinner with that kind of view every night, you can just toss the TV for good!
ReplyDeleteThe Chrysler building is my favourite in the whole world. How wonderful for your friend to live so high up and have such amazing views.I'd never want to leave if I visited her. I love this sort of architecture, despite living in a country full of old impressive buildings
ReplyDeleteWow, what amazing views! Your friend is very fortunate to live in a place like that! Sigh, maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteI can not imagine she has a view like that from her sitting room! What a lucky woman !!
