I think with all those people it won't be cold in Washington. The cupcakes are peachy!!! Thanks for the image. Enjoy yourselves, Elizabeth and Robert!!!!!
Just got tears in my eyes as I saw he and Bush walk out of the white house, side by side, into their limos to take that ride - Bush's last, taking Barak to the podium to pass the baton.
I said aloud: may god bless you and keep you, may god bless you and keep you, may god bless you and keep you SAFE
Happy Inauguration Day, Elizabeth! Your post gives a sense of the revelry in Manhattan for this most historic occasion. MLK's dream has come true! Oh, Happy Day! I'll have one of those cupcakes please! Have a wonderful day, Elizabeth! Petra :))
Sorry---not going to join in the love fest. Gonna hold my opinions until I see what happens to my taxes and the US economy. Was not pleased with the last eight years but I'm not kissing anybodys feet now, either.
I never watch the inaugurals, but this year I was glued to the set...what an exciting day of hope for humanity! And I too felt the grip of tyranny in my country, afraid to call my dog a terrorist, for being dragged away by the men in black...Homeland Security.
We all pray for an honest man as our leader...let this be one!
The BBC coverage mentioned the incredible sales in t-shirts . . . and suggested that the economy would be instantly lifted if other goods and services were selling so well. (I wonder how they did with the cupcakes?)
It was a truly happy day. (You might be interested to know that they watched the Inauguration at my daughter's ENGLISH school! Amazing!)
Hello Elizabeth, I laughed when I read the word 8 years of 'tyranny'...and what a joyful and hopeful day, not only for the Americans for the whole world.
I'm with you all the way, Elizabeth! The tyranny is over--hooray! I was crying all day yesterday while watching the momentous day yesterday unfolding...May the hope and change ever reign! Oh, YES!! And what better way to celebrate in addition than with cupcakes?!...mmm...The Obama-Rama continues... ;o) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
