Simple Things

Christina of Soul Aperture is hosting a celebration of simple things.
Go here to join in.

This is not the finest example of a dahlia plant,
but it's rather touching anyway.

Reflections in a door on 21st Street.

White clouds seen from a building at Robert Moses beach.

My favorite milk jug bathed in morning light.

  1. All super, but the clouds seen from a building, and the building, at Robert Moses beach, is especially sublime!

  2. The still life is gorgeous! I've become more interested in them since seeing the Luis Menlendez show at the national Gallery. His still lifes are crazy - a bunch of fruits set in front of a stormy landscape with the trees whipping around, for instance.

He includes a lot of meat in his still lifes, too. Meat? It's weird and I love it.

Your favorite milk jug is fabulous, especially with lemons and morning sun.

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
