I love the simple greyish quality of colour here, and the darker vertical trunk of a young tree surrounded by the pebbles. An oriental touch here as opposed to the usual busy plant look.
There is a lovely poem which starts something like Glory be to God for dappled things. Not sure who it is by - have a feeling it might be Manley Hopkins - but it sprang to mind when I saw your dappled shadowing Elizabeth - I must look it up. (although some bloggy pal might tell us if we wait a day or two.)
Not only did I like your shots, but this particular phrase went down a treat, too: '23rd Street between 10th and 11th Avenue'. That's how we give directions in Cuba. Rarely heard in GB.
Lovely shadow shot!

ReplyDeleteloving the texture of the rocks against the shadowy texture of the leaves OR vice-versa!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love these shots. They seem so Japanese in mood. does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteZen garden-ish. Nice neutral colors, dappled shadows and smooth rocks.
ReplyDeleteHow very zen like, so restful, I'd walk there too...they almost look like bamboo shadows.
