Shadows and Reflections/ShadowShotSunday

Go to HeyHarriet for more shadow shots from round the world.

It has been sunny this week.
A great thrill.
A seat on a deck overlooking the Hudson.

Diamonds of light glittering off the Hudson's gray water.

A metal fire escape on West 22nd Street.

These last two left over from our visit to MoMa.
Water is poured in trained-waiter style
and the wretched orange thing is reflected in the window.

A camp outing at the same place.

I have seen some of your previous shadows posts as well, and love the way you capture them.

The Hudson is looking mighty sparkly - that's not how I ever think of that river. Beautiful.

Love seeing your picture, too. Excellent! You are gorgeous and so is your dog.

Looks like I'll be in NYC in September when a dear dear dear blog friend (from way back in time) will be visiting from Australia. I'll let you know.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I'm wondering what on earth that orange 'thing' is reflected in the window...

Love your fire escape shadows!

Hope you have a lovely Sunday :)

All beautiful and exciting. Yes, what is that orange thing!!

Margaret: The orange thing is a sculpture. There is a pink one too.
I think I'm visually deaf to the delights of much modern sculpture which, in my eyes, often resembles stuff brought home by happy, industrious middle-school children.....

I love the fire escape shot, again thanks for the tour of the many faces of New York.

I think the first time I visited your blog was for a SundayShadowShot. The composition and variety have kept me happily coming back. The deck chair says, "relax." The fire escape reminds me of West Side Story--only better. I agree with you totally on modern sculpture.

What really caught my eye this morning is your fab new avatar with Buster! Taken by Claudia? LOVE it!!

All of these are great shots Elizabeth. I can't tell which are the metal stairs and which the black shadows. That last photo looks like a Harry Potter movie, muggles and wizard ghosts mingling in the street.

Such lovely images,
so well observed and lovingly captured! The repeat patterns are intriguing and the waiter scene is a delight, orange thing or not. ;-)
