and sometimes other places
lovely action packed summer night shots...there's never a bad time for billy's cupcakes...
great night scenesI can feel the energy
Your Dallas Barbeque shot reminds me of Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks".
Your city scenes are always intriguing, Elizabeth.
Almost makes me want to visit NYC...
Nicely done .. those leggo looking tables are even more interesting at night.
Love the night feel you are creating with these shots, Elizabeth. I hope the visit with your daughter went well. I also was thinking of daughters and I wrote a post this week about my own daughter's influence on me...come over a read my poems if you can. The last capture is perplexing...and I looked at it extra long...I had to read about the plane to be able to see what the other light in the sky was...curious...I think the angle, space and building off center are effective. <3
Gee, a friend of mine is in NYC this week, makes we want to go myself. Lovely shots!
"Nighthawks" was the first thing to come to mind for me as well. Great night shots. I am wondering if the high line is gated at night. Might be a great place to sleep out in a a bag!
the moon is great with plane!
Did you know that I have never been to New York? So, I'm really enjoying this blog and all the photos!
Love the moon and plane shot elizabeth. Happy 4th July - have a good weekend.
I love night shots - such a different feeling - more moody
Great photos, so evocative. Love the Legos, pink sidewalks and street shots
I so enjoy your post everyday. It makes me miss NYC. I went to college at F.I.T. and realy feel the need for a visit this summer after seeing your photos.Thanks...
Oh thanks!!Now I'm jonesing for a walk around nightitme New York (pref part of it with you and Daryl;-)No bikes outside H&H?!Have you seen the photos of my in-law uncle Louis Clyde Stoumen? Classic NY night!Check em out!Aloha SistahComfort Spiral
I like the moon shot. That has to be a helecopter, surely, no other 'plane is allowed? It is not easy finding a good moon shot in the city - wonderful.
I can imagine the sounds that you heard that night, too. I'm trying to imagine what's diagonal from Hogs and Heifers? A restaurant? A gallery?
Speaking of Legos and New York...you've most likely already seen this:http://niemann.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/02/02/i-lego-ny/I really like the photo of the moon, plane, clouds and building.Cheers!
your photos are wonderful. So atmospheric. There is never a bad time for cupcakes in my opinion. It is difficult to get cakes later in the evening anywhere in the UK - its just not the culture here yet sadly.
I look forward to hearing from you!
