Buy cup cakes from a truck on 5th Avenue.
Feel anxious that one might not be chosen.
Check the cell phone in Chelsea Market while looking an
awful lot like a Duane Hansen sculpture.

Wash hands on the High Line.
And, of course, take photographs of it all.

The thing that I should do: sit in my garden and enjoy the rare heat (instead of sitting inside at my computer).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I'm not a young actor -- how heartbreaking.
I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing NYC in its summer clothes.
Cupcakes by truck....gotta love that
ReplyDeleteThese are fun...you have got to love NYC Cupcake Truck and all.
ReplyDeleteDo you ask permission to post photos of people?...I am always worried about whether I should get permission or not...on top of that I am shy :)
I love people photos.
I'll take one of those cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's in NY for dozens of auditions a year. I don't know how she does it. It's tough.
Very cool!
ReplyDeleteDid you notice the girl with the cute, bright-colored, short dress and yellow shoes, standing on line. She certainly stands out. I wonder if she was picked. What were they auditioning for?
Paz
I almost always ask permission to photograph people.
ReplyDeleteThe casting call people obviously were pro's at it!
Yes, I loved the yellow shoes and cool dress.
At first seeing all these people outside a church at lunch time I thought
wedding
funeral?
This was the first cup-cake truck I've ever seen.
I did not give in to temptation.
LOVE these random but related shots you take .. looking forward to Friday, crossing digits for no rain!
ReplyDeleteHave just come home after taking out Dutch friends around Rievaulx abbey 9Cistercian) - a very hot sultry day here so very tired. Still enjoyed your NY photos though.
ReplyDeleteMost of them are fun summertime activities. Except the casting call.
ReplyDeleteMug Monday was fun to do. Are there plans to continue it every Monday?
oooo, my kingdom for a cupcake truck in our neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteCool short-takes on New York street life, Elizabeth. So much to do, so much at risk, so real! Please pass a cupcake...<3
ReplyDeleteA summer day!
ReplyDeleteWow. That woman really does look like a Duane Hanson sculpture. Are you sure she was real?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portrait of the girl washing her hands.
As always I am in awe of camera friendly New Yorkers.
I like the sculpture look alike the best!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what people did in NYC when is rains for a month! Now I know. Thanks and I'm dying to see the Hi Line. Heard about it many times.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many to catch up on and all brilliant as usual.
ReplyDeleteyeah....mobile cupcakes, how great is that!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful taste of NYC!
ReplyDeleteAloha from Waikiki, Elizabeth ;-)
Comfort Spiral
Cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere's something about the last photo, "Mexican visitors on 22nd Street" that is both interesting and disturbing.
ReplyDeleteIt conjures up the image of everyone in the world having a digital camera and everyone is taking pictures of each other, the detritus of the world and everything else within line of sight. Sort of Kodak Moments Gone Nuts.
I enjoy looking at your photographs - it's so interesting how other people "see" the world around them.
ReplyDeleteNice list of things to do..and seems like there's plenty to do there..I'd go for the cupcakes for sure :P
ReplyDeleteVery cool glimpses of New York! Love the cupcakes being sold from a truck! Hope that catches on over here :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeletehave you heard about the "Beekeepers Ball"? Wouldn't bees be a nice theme for a blog?
Rainy cheers from V.,

She really does look like a Duane Hansen sculpture! The cupcake truck is so much better than Mr. Softee.
