Uptown on the Subway for a birthday party.
Feel sort of bad taking pictures of people's faces on
the subway so settle for feet.
Noisemakers to greet the unwitting honored guest.
Are surprise parties wonderful or cruel?
Hmm........
Evening light hit the brownstones as we walk towards Central Park.
I like the dappled brownstones particularly! And a cake with real cream and ice cream, with the strawberries, wow!
ReplyDeleteImagine a spiked heel has a shadow...love your unique subject selection...but the brownstones are off the wall pretty...I want some of that light and happy cake!!! Thanks for sharing your clever shadowy views, Miss Elizabeth. <3
ReplyDeleteLovely variety of shadows! The feet one is subtle and clever ~ like a shining shadow! But love the romantic play of light and shadow in the last shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful journey Uptown! With birthday cake to boot! Extra strawberries for me please!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of taking pics of feet. I must try that :)
Love those brownstones! And I do not like surprise birthday parties. They scare people!
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these is a great shadow picture.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think surprise parties are usually cruel. I know I've hated a couple given for me.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a surprise party so have no idea how I would feel.....
Harriet/Tracy:
I have lots of feet pictures but my latest idea is to post about PLATES since all of us use them every day and they are very good indicators of.......all sorts of things.
love.
Hi, Wonderful shots ... I quite often take pics of feet or shoes when I am travelling and bored :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it depends a lot on the person who is going to be celebrated whether a surprise party is a good idea or not.
Hey Elizabeth! Love all of your shadows...agree with the taking pictures of faces! That cake looks wonderful....as far as supprise birthdays being cruel....it depends if your the guest or the guest of honor!
ReplyDeleteSchool is out - going through my daughter's papers to find her book report & I'll get it over to ya! Is Jane in Spring out yet? Can't wait!
Love the brownstones! That is where I would want to live! And the shot from the roof was very cool!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy my little excursions to New York with you, Elizabeth. That last shot of the brownstones is truly romantic.
ReplyDeleteI always love the tours of new York, so much history behind these scenes...thanks for sharing! Wish I could be on that walk too...and maybe a small slice of cake too...
