23rd Street

A very small, serene monk walks down the opposite side of the street
from where I was sitting having a cup of tea in Joe.

Inside the cafe,  plans are made to fix up an apartment.

Just near the Chelsea Hotel they are shooting an independent film.

By the fruit stand two visitors from Cuba
 meet a woman wearing a Che T-shirt.

  1. ONLY in NEW YORK could you see all of these happenings all in one morning! Isn't it grand?

  5. I love the photo with the people in the cafe discussing their apt. Something about the light fixtures gives it the perfect balance.

  8. I'm always up for the original Law & Order reruns, just for their authentic NYC street scenes.

  9. It brings memories to me! Last October we stayed at the Chelsea for a week, had a wonderful time.

  10. Loved the 'Things to Do' post - all those people busy being busy. Some looking content, others confused, a couple of them nervous and a little fearful...

I've been up in London (very muggy) and it is amazing to watch everyone 'doing things' while sitting sipping an espresso on the Kings Road. Hopping, singing, running, arguing, laughing, crying (babies, mostly), loitering... Must take my camera next time.

The rainy night in New York photos are very atmospheric...I'm pleased that Buster was pulling at the lead because those cascades of light add such drama to the pictures.

  11. I love these random shots - when we had our NY hol it was astonishing how many films we saw being shot in the streets of NY. You don't see it much in London, it would be impossible to get them to cordon off the streets I think

  16. You always find such interesting juxtapositions. I so enjoyed scrolling down and catching up with all the fun images that I had missed. Those flowers on the abandoned rail track were glorious.

  17. Each of these photographs could make an interesting short film, couldn't they? I wonder what the Cubans said to the woman wearing the Che tshirt?
