Mrs.Nesbitt's ABC Wednesday/Yellow

ABC Wednesday is turning out to be fun but I didn't feel very bold coming up with yellow.
See Mrs.Nesbitt's Place for details and other bloggers participating.
However, I do like the Green Market in Union Square as regular readers of this blog will know.
Sunflowers awaiting new homes.......

I never eat theses little zucchinis/gourds but I like looking at them.

The photos are much better enlarged.

Anyway, I liked this cool ladder a lot. Of course there are all the yellow taxis too but they have appeared in lots of other pictures. no use giving one thing/person all the attention.

  2. Good morning. I've got an award waiting for you over at Willow Manor. Come on over for a cup of tea and pick it up!

  3. The gourds remind me of my grandmother's garden in Virginia. In her little patch of earth one could find a rainbow of colors arcing through the gourds, zucchinis and cucumbers. I need to walk through the Union Square market more often.

Many of my own blog entries include areas you've shot. It's interesting to see how a downtown neighbor approaches these sights with a different perspective. Thanks!

  9. I like all your photo captures of yellow in the market. You really should try eating those little crooked-neck squash, though. They are delicious, especially if you pick the smallest tenderest ones, steam them for a few minutes then serve them with butter, salt and pepper. Yum!

You'r right that all of these photos look even better when enlarged.

    Thank you fro sharing them.

  10. Thank you for all your kind comments.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of yellow (Britt-A - did you guess?!) - maybe a nice soft butter color.
I was just a bit lacking in imagination.

  14. How much fun to see a monochromatic themed post! NYC looks hot in those lovely water photos below. I'll pack accordingly.

  15. I love markets, the choice, the opportunities, the ideas, the recipes! I had a big cooking session yesterday, hence my lateness. Ladder is just art!

  16. These are lovely yellow photos. I like those yellow zucchini/gourd thingies. I haven't seen those before. They don't sell them in my local fruit & veg shop :(
