Barrie Summy and Food

Barrie Summy, author, blogger and mother asked me to participate in a pre-4th July round up of useful recipes.
I'm afraid I'm a day late, and my next career will not be in food styling.
However, this yellow rice is always a good contrast to the red, white and blue - it also has the advantage of being the sort of thing that you just add anything to and it tastes fine!

Yellow Rice Salad

Ingredients.
White rice, boiled with a teaspoonful of turmeric
cooked peas
chopped parsley and chives
chopped red and green peppers
A spoonful of olive oil
A spoonful of balsemic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Method:
cook and cool the rice
throw everything else in

  4. The rice dish sounds a lot like the Indonesian yellow rice we make except we use coconut milk.

I'm back home now and catching up with everything from blogs to laundry to mail. I'll be posting again as soon as I get all my photos uploaded.

I enjoyed Robert's different perspective on New York.
