Red and Yellow and Bicycles

Ha-Ha Fresh on 9th Avenue in the early morning.
Much better to have a bike than a car in the city.

A street fair on Saturday afternoon on 8th Avenue......
with lots of food and the requisite bicycle.

One of the good things about street fairs is that you can hang around in the
middle of the road where you would not usually be and look straight up the avenue.

For some reason this is a very red, yellow and green post.

Yellow, and a Morning Conversation

8:30 am on a cold morning on 22nd Street.

8:45 am The West Side Highway a symphony in chrome yellow,
not to mention the big pails with sand and grit in them
and the traffic lights and the school bus.

I really don't much like bright yellow
 - but I suppose it is used so people notice it.
This van says "TRUCK 'N ROLL"
The bit of the High Line looms above.

My main blog is now HERE

Alarmingly Bright/Ruby Tuesday

Most New Yorkers favor basic black.
When you think of Manhattan you think of black and white.......
However.....

...some people buck the trend. Like this dandy in his cool yellow pants at the bus stop on 23rd Street.....

....or these little girls at Union Square photographed when I was trying to participate in "Pink Saturday". (I failed.)

I'm pretty sure this family having brunch at the Half King in Chelsea comes from out of town. Four people and no black at all?
Real New Yorker to the left.

This group have got the clothes down - but the hair is pretty thrilling.

Long Island is another place entirely. In East Northport a pink car.
Wow!

Yellow/Downtown

School buses are yellow, taxis are yellow, and so are water taxis - which I have never been on though they look fun.
On bike rides we often end up at South Street Seaport - a very touristy place but whatever.

Here you can take a water taxi to IKEA - the center of the known universe. I think this is an exaggeration - but that's what advertising is all about. It makes me want to join the queues of happy shoppers heading across the East River.

You can see all of the waterfalls and to Governor's Island.........

In a shop window, an alternative form of yellow transportation.

Mrs.Nesbitt's ABC Wednesday/Yellow

ABC Wednesday is turning out to be fun but I didn't feel very bold coming up with yellow.
See Mrs.Nesbitt's Place for details and other bloggers participating.
However, I do like the Green Market in Union Square as regular readers of this blog will know.
Sunflowers awaiting new homes.......

I never eat theses little zucchinis/gourds but I like looking at them.

The photos are much better enlarged.

Anyway, I liked this cool ladder a lot. Of course there are all the yellow taxis too but they have appeared in lots of other pictures. no use giving one thing/person all the attention.
