Time Over Distance/ Robert Schmid

Robert has updated his website to include his most recent paintings.
People often want to make a narrative out of these rather complex juxtapositions
of images. Rather difficult to explain in words things that are essentially visual ideas.
He is represented by the Sears Peyton Gallery on 11th Avenue.
On the right is a picture of Deniz taken a few weeks ago. Strange how life turns into art.

1. Love his work... he takes the photos and then paints them?

2. Makes me think of 'visual' haiku - Photo-like forms in various positions of 5-7-5 syllables, but I know they are the finest of Fine Art paintings. Very interesting. Alas, we looked for your other gallery just yesterday, but will look for the new one soon.

3. Daryl:
Yes, he has about a billion photos taken all over the place and uses them as the jumping off point for the paintings, often altering various aspects of them.

4. I shall go and look at the site now.

5. I was just telling my son about your talented family this morning.
Robert's work is awesome. if possible, please alert me as to when he has a show. I would love to see it in person.

6. I love Buster's Blog! and of course I love Robert's work. Have for years. People should support their friends who are artists by purchasing their work. It is always a good investment for many reasons, ans shows respect for someone who is dedicated to creating beauty.

7. How very interesting...and beautiful.
I will make it a point to check it out the next time I am in NYC.
Talent seems to run in families and yours is amazing...starting with you.

8. I'm guessing that because previous commenters are talking about your talented family that Robert is a relation? I looked at his website but not too many words there

His work is very interesting, a relation or not

9. Dear French Fancy
Robert is my husband.

10. How lovely to have such a kindred spirit as your mate. Is he a native New Yorker?

11. Sorry I did not take part in the haiku festival, but I was too busy (I'm still working on an 42,5 hours a week full time job) :)()()()()
Maybe I can contribute later?
D#ora sends greetings to buster. Would be lovely to take a walk at the Prater :)
Happy weekend, Maria

12. Hi Elizabeth.
Please tell Robert his updated site looks great. You are married to a talented man! I see the influence of where you have lived in his work.

Hugs to you!

13. Oh WOW! The painting looks amazing - ! It was funny how that wall color was the exact color of my coat. I love the way you and Robert see the world.

14. So strange, but I was just having that thought about narratives today. I was listening to a play and heard something similar: we need to "explain," to fill in the gaps.

I will now have to visit Robert's site for a good peruse!

15. Gosh, I'm awe-struck. Robert's paintings have a kind of intellectual grace....if that makes sense? I keep wanting to go back time and time again to look at them all and to absorb every fascinating detail. I think his work is quite exceptional.

16. Robert has such a talent! (Hi Robert!)
When I look at his art I always feel as if he freezes and at the same time liquifies images in time-simultaneously making them a snapshot of our reality while the experience of that moment keeps recreating other images in our mind. A sort of continuum...

17. hopping and skipping
and loving everything
the beach breakfast
we had blueberry, raspberry and banana pancakes
having picked at least 4 lbs yesterday
now Boone is making bb cobbler...
love this painting of Robert's
looking for the gallery post...
I always love all of your images E.
takes me into the urban stimuli
so many visual angles
so much to catch up on
do hope that you will consider
a country retreat

19. Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I make money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my web site to get additional info. Online Investment Blog

I look forward to hearing from you!
