In late September, England had its best, and almost only, bit of summer.
Instead of being gray and overcast, things were bright and sunny.
The glass door knob glittered with light.
But it's better to have lots of umbrellas at the ready just in case.
A cat flap in the door and French windows..........
..........and a bench in a sunny spot to grab sunshine whenever you can.
The last photo looks soooo romantic.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the colours in the umbrella photo
Beautiful play of light and shadow in these pics! Just stunning! I especially love the light patterns from the glass doorknob!

Lovely. I adore the glittering knob.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I need to visit you more often, I love these photos. They bring a sense of peace, almost as if I was back up North as a very young girl in one of my mum's old Victorian homes. Beautiful post, beautiful stained glass windows, beautiful shadows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely golden glow surrounding the garden bench! You're photos are so nostalgic. Please stay in England forever and keep sending them!

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your impressions of England!
My chestnut trees are not from Vienna, here they are still green, but from the countryside about 50 miles north of Vienna. There it seems to be colder in the nights :)
