Evening and Morning
just after seven in the evening, the sun appeared very briefly
and bathed the buildings in a pink light.

In the morning the sun paints bright patches on the floor.

Leftovers
I did not leave the house.
Herewith a round up of stuff that has been lurking.
Above a place where you can assuage your desire for cash, hot dogs and coffee 24/7.
As regards taking pictures of people. I generally ask people if I can take their photo or wave at them and grin. It's all very tricky.
I almost never take photos of children.

London Light/Shadow Shot Sunday
In late September, England had its best, and almost only, bit of summer.
Instead of being gray and overcast, things were bright and sunny.
The glass door knob glittered with light.
But it's better to have lots of umbrellas at the ready just in case.
A cat flap in the door and French windows..........
..........and a bench in a sunny spot to grab sunshine whenever you can.

Morning Light/England
Is this a wardrobe to step into to discover a hidden world?
The ceramic houses were made by handicapped craftspeople. Candles are put in them at Christmas time.

Distractions
I'm sure all of you who work at home or are remotely creative know the drill.
There are so many things that prevent one from actually getting down to work.
There is the standard cup of tea..........
............the sofa to sit on............
..........the early morning light falling just so. Robert's drawings of people in Djemma elFna above........
His table waiting for him him to get to work. He is much more disciplined than me.
As a last resort one can look out of the window. I do that a lot.
At about 7 yesterday evening there was a rainbow behind the Empire State Building.
From the side window, I can look down at people on the little path that runs between 23rd and 24th Streets.
I can write blogs. I can do all sorts of things.
What do you do when trying to avoid writing - or whatever it is you think you ought to be doing?

Architecture
The Empire State Building from 23rd Street. Afternoon light.
New York architecture tends to the vertical and the dramatic.
Heading towards Manhattan on the Long Island Rail road.
Late afternoon.
The same thing........
7th Avenue at 20th Street.
Walking along 9th Avenue.
