The High Line Chronicles Continue

White pants, sensible shoes, a bench to sit down on.

Armani dreams between the meadow flowers and 10th Avenue.

10th Avenue seen from above and summer campers making art.

Looking west, what toxic swirls and sand.

Lunch, of course, the most important part of any outing.
Frances and I sit outside at Cookshop.
She has the duck confit with pecans. YUM!

I have beets in cream.

  6. LOL...we think alike...I was going to post the Armani photo with the same type of thought ;)
I love beets...my mother used to cook them and I would peeled them...my hands beet red, but I loved the color...then she would pickle them and serve them as a cold side salad to accompany roasted meet and watercress salad.

White pants??? Those would last about 3 seconds on me- dust follows me like I am it's food source- I can safely wear brown.

  13. I really want those green shoes. They look so comfortable yet classy. Always love your food photos. Wonder if you ever get comments from the servers or chef from your photographic appreciation of their art. Even the beets look good.

  17. Yum, beets! note to self, learn to make the real thing.

I went to the high line the night of graduation, when it was only open 14 days. It indeed looks good up there. Just read in the Post that they are getting 4 times the expected visitors and the costs that will bring. I had to laugh. Don't they know if you build it, New Yorkers will come, use and enjoy it?

  24. All the pictures are fascinating, given the location, but the beets in cream are among the most appetizing food images I have ever seen!

Would you have a recipe for these beets? I have some from Saturday's market, that I wanted to have for lunch tomorrow.
