Morning, but the kite-flyer has got here early.
The kite....
and the bird
And not too very many people.
The water completely delicious and not a bit cold.
For those of you from out of town, Robert Moses was a most interesting, larger than life character. He is really worth reading about. I always tend to think of characters from Ayn Rand when I think of him.
Stunning images, I particularly like the prints in the sand.
ReplyDeleteThe last one just reprising "Jaws" for me!
hi elizabeth - thanks for sharing these gorgeous summer beach images. i can smell the water, feel the sand between my toes, hear the birds, watch the kite catching zephyrs. mmmmmm. have a peaceful afternoon. steven
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! So playful! You change the blog name...now you're not in the A section? Lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI love your beach pictures. They make me feel very land locked here in the midwest. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteBird prints! Fabulous. Was it a seagull or a plover? Did you notice?
ReplyDeleteLove the tracks in the sand!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Beaches anywhere make me happy! And you have warmer water.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful. Who was Robert Moses?
ReplyDeleteI'll be on the beach in a few weeks! And cannot wait!! Thanks for the teaser!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the kite and the bird - a bit of syncronized flying :)
ReplyDeletethe last photo is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe bird and kite both flying together WERE fun to see. Thanks for the opportunity to savor the beach, even if vicariously.
ReplyDeleteSo summerly. I can feel the joy of those people.
ReplyDeleteLovely post for a summer's day elizabeth - and it is one here too. I love those tiny bird footprints in the sand.
ReplyDeleteDexter and I were eating our sandwich while reading this post- Got sand in it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wonderful summer shots- Dexter wanted to run away from the wet stuff- I am sure Buster did!
The kite and the bird - great combination and action!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, it is great that yesterday's weather was kind to your beach visit.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I will tell you how lovely are your photos, and that they are proof of just how many words can be held in a picture.
I very much like your cluing folks not from New York on to the multi-faceted person that was Robert Moses.
Where, oh where, is the thunderstorm that was to grace us this afternoon? Our smogginess does need a good cleansing.
Best wishes. xo
Somehow reading this post, I feel like diving into the water...must be really fun to be in it. We have super duper hot weather as usual...time to go to the beach :D
ReplyDeleteNow that really does look like summer :)
ReplyDeleteSummer? What's that? Oooh, I could sit here all day just gazing at those lovely photographs. What a gorgeous beach for a long walk, mind empty...just soaking up the sound of the sea and the energy boosted salt-laden air.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I see exactly what you mean about Robert Moses being an Ayn Rand character. Gosh it seems a 100 years ago that I was transfixed by her books.
What a beautiful beach. I especially love the footprint pic :-) But where's Buster?
ReplyDeleteThis collection of photographs have such delicious open space or "emptiness" in them. Very soothing to gaze upon. Those bird prints (tracks?) are wonderful.
