Sand, dried grasses and rose hips beneath the feet.
Six steps up towards the Sound.
Two chairs --with requisite shadows!
And a collection of the stuff that washes up on the beach.
There is no one there but us which is rather odd but nice........
So it was fun to float around like a little bit of seaweed
or a feather.....

Ah, you are on the North Shore. We are not fat from the Sound in Southern CT. No waves, but this calm body of water is quite relaxing. I love the dunes and vegetation within. To relax at the beach and do nothing or search for shell treasures, this is a great way to spend the day
ReplyDeleteAll these photos are lovely. I especially love the shadow on the uneven sand.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome place for relaxing :) Nice shadows too!

Beautiful day at the beach! I love the finds photo- such a mix of natural and modern. Great way to enjoy summer, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteLoved the photo with the feather. Warmly, Karen
ReplyDeleteHow unusual that no one else was around during the summer! But what a lovely day it was.
ReplyDeleteThe feather shot is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRock collection shadow
These scenes are so very beautiful to me - starved of warm sunshine for now! Great chair shadows inviting relaxation and dreaming!
ReplyDeleteOh! Everyone of these shots is superb! I want to be there with toes in the sand and shadows all wiggly under the chair. What a great day!
ReplyDeleteLovely New York day at the beach-it looks so lovely and i is funny that there is nobody there. I love all your photos-especially the seaweed! I saw roses with hips like that too in Kent!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Make me even more anxious about leaving to the sea tomorrow. I will keep an eye out for such beautiful beach chair shadows.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
What a beautiful blog. Stunning photos and I've just been sidetracked by your Morocco blog too. I can't for the life of me remember how I stumbled upon About New York (an afternoon of blog-hopping does that) but I'm glad I did.
ReplyDeleteThe beach pictures are wonderful, Elizabeth..I do love the wavy chair shadows..such a sweet and restful day you describe!
