Morgan Library
They were very fierce about not taking pictures in the Morgan Library - so I could only take a picture of the gift shop from outside when it had begun to rain.
The red velvet curtains in the drawing room were stunning..........
I liked the exhibition of ms. from 20th century authors - Kerouak, T.S. Eliot, an early edition of Siegfied Sassoon's Memoirs of an Infantry Officer.
Arather fierce looking building facing on to Madison Square Park - but look how big the windows are.........
I think I will have a moritorium on pictures of the Empire State Building pretty soon - though it is impressive.
Back to the Morgan Library - a nice curved building - no expense spared both when it was built and when it was renovated......and the food is delicious.

Hello..
ReplyDeletejust published yesterday a collage about New York on my guildwood.blogspot.com blog.
Yes, I was born in Germany:-))
How about your mom?
cheers Gisela
I don't think you can ever have enough pictures of the Empire State Building. It is one of my favorite buildings ever. Magnificent.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and special~
ReplyDeleteThe Morgan is one of my FAVORITE places! The bookstore, the museum, even the bathroom is nice. Oh, so civilized. I used to work near the Morgan and hang out in the bookstore during lunch hours. That was before the renovation. I don't get there as often now.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, they are fierce about their rules. I've been reprimanded there on occassion. But what a wonderful place. Another fierce and lovely place is the Frick. Do you like it there?
I just might steal your idea of taking pictures from the outside. Your shot of the bookstore window is great! I really like it.
And, thanks for mentioning that the food is good. I've never dined there, but I'll give it a try.
