A Walk

A patch of clear day between rainstorms.
A walk between 11th and 8th Avenues.
A Moto Guzzi looks wonderful.
The very name is wonderful.

A fire hydrant newly painted silver.
Not sure by whom.
Shiny new metal delights.

I'm not interested in motorbikes, fire hydrants or construction,
except sometimes they look good.

Richard Woods has had an art show for some months.
This is probably the third set of pictures I've taken of the window.

Then, when I get home, I hear a pitiful cheeping sound.

A very young American robin on a ledge outside the nail parlor.
He looks quite self possessed. I hope he's all right.

Wednesday

Morning: Skateboard kidz act cool on 23rd Street.

Afternoon: A little bird cheeps on 22nd Street. Paz take note.

Evening: Looking down from the High Line.
Such long shadows.

More of the same.
By  happy chance we ran into BonBonOiseau
and talked about Morocco.

Night. Same place.

The Usual Sort of Walk

Wandering about as usual, looking about me.
22nd Street.

Not quite sure whether these were pansies or violas.
They were rather small - but exquisite.

Lily of the valley. When I was a child I would save up to buy my mother
Morny's Lily of the Valley talcum powder.
We both thought it very wonderful.

Reya posted the other day about GREEN.
Here in a rather formal little garden on 21st Street.

Here a little bird trying to camouflage himself as a stoop railing.
22nd Street.

Details/Rajasthan/India

The textures and bright colors remind me in some ways of Morocco.
Rather a change from austere New York.

Subtle shabby-chic...

Please notice the little bird trying his best to blend in.

Ice cream anyone?

Waiting for the bus.

Riding on an elephant.

The chair by the door. Mandawa.

Wall. Mandawa.

Shopkeeper.

Such an unusual color combination.
