Losing Interest Rapidly...

This morning it was 1F with a windchill factor of minus 15...

People trudge around looking miserable.

A dull picture of cars in the snow...

Last weeks flowers are falling apart.

Some blue berries...

What it looked like at four in the morning the other day...

and while walking the dog.

Bicycles huddle together for warmth...

Better to bundle up and go incognito.

Going hatless is rather silly.

On Long Island it looks rather picturesque

and bitterly sunny.

No possibility of playing outside...

So a collaborative rendering of New York City with a man who went down a ladder and discovered all sorts of junk under The Empire State Building... and the Lego store on a day when it was raining.

Back home the Trader Joe's lavender has the beginnings of flowers

but the dog has given up in despair...

    1. I think our bus to the tropics will be standing room only!

  2. I just heard on NPR a study that said the Southwest, where I live, will be getting dryer and the Northeast and East coast will have more freezing temps and more snow and ice in the future. Not what I wanted to hear.
Buster does look like he has given up in despair.

    cheers, parsnip

  4. Such wonderful photos!! You've made me want to visit that gorgeous house on Long Island and then pay a visit to Trader Joe's for some lavender!! : ) I hope you're having a beautiful day. It looks like another bout of cold and snow for us. New Yorkers really are badass, aren't they?!!? LOL!!! xo

  5. Ouch! Bitter cold is never fun and wind makes it so much worse. So weird the contrast of weather on our coasts. Here in the Rockies we have record warm. Things are trying to bloom and grow. Wish there was some way to even things out. Love the art work.

  6. What stunning pictures, particularly at the end there. I absolutely LOVE that drawing. Definitely worth framing. That underground chamber is a bit scary! Keep warm over there. x

  9. Sure you must be so tired of it by now. A budding artist I see, following in Grandpa's footsteps.

  10. Elizabeth, you've conveyed very well what is really, truly beginning to get to us.

When i left for work this morning it was 7 degrees F, but I tried not to calculate the wind chill factor. I was wearing six layers of clothing at the shop, with a reassuring cashmere scarf wound round my neck (two pairs of socks under my boots, too) and I really did not feel very warm.

    Enough!

Yet it does not seem to be over yet. I think that Buster and I are on the same page. xo
