What super kind comments from so many people. I'm really touched. My other blog which is also a bit about New York but also about books and art is here. There is a thing to check if you want to follow it. I will be trying to keep up with all my blogger blog chums too. Anyway...
I went up to the roof this afternoon and took a photo of the Empire State Building.
Then I looked down and took a photo of people crossing the street.
I noticed how many berries were on the tree on the roof.
After that I picked some dill and salvia, two zinnias and a couple of blades of grass, which I took downstairs and photographed on the black table that was left here by a friend six years ago.
These roses are over life-sized - as is the oregano. After that I decided that I have run out of things to put in this blog. After over 841 posts and 298,863 page views, enough is definitely enough. This blog was mostly about New York; my other one The World Examining Works is more about fruit and flowers and family and hasn't got a proper theme at all except to show pictures of things.
Blogger is easy to manage, but, to my mind at least, Typepad is better looking. What fun it's been!
Elizabeth! Now wait just a second. The rules are as follows: "If a blogger decides to terminate blogging, that said blogger must give, at a minimum, a six month notice."
ReplyDeleteSee, it's right there in the Blogger handbook!
No wait, New York is never ending- You have not yet posted the slimy part- the sketchy part- there are more discoveries to be made! I will miss this one, Ms.E!!! AND, think of all of the charity shops you have not yet blogged about (just kidding...)I have adored this blog so much. I adore you and your city!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bereavement! I love this blog. Could you not consider a bit of a holiday instead, of unspecified length, until the mood takes you again? I haven't blogged for yonks but I have been feeling stirrings again recently...
ReplyDeleteRespect your choice but will miss NYC posting. So glad you are not leaving altogether! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at NY from your camera. So I will miss this blog.
ReplyDeleteBut as with all life it is in constant flow so who knows you may be back.
cheers, parsnip

wa...wa...what!? no, no, no...this can't be!
ReplyDeletewait a minute, i will survive, there is instagram 😄
Elizabeth, I understand this..I miss the energy of the 'old' art blogging. I am just as much to blame as anything else...less and less time to go visiting. I am thankful for IM. Perhaps I should join the fb craze but miss the intimacy of our art blogs.
ReplyDeleteRIP About New York
x...x
I shall miss seeing NYC but of course I can still get a bit of Elizabeth photo love at world examining works. But. Please. Don't stop altogether!
ReplyDeleteOh I am sad to think you will no longer be here Elizabeth. Your photos of New York are exquisite. I shall of course follow you wherever you go, please don't give up blogging.
ReplyDeleteI loved your pictures too Elizabeth but hope you'll be able to still put some special shots of NYC on WEW. xx
ReplyDeleteWell Elizabeth, I know that you've been considering this move for a while, but my greedy self does wish that you'd continue to show us some more About New York.
ReplyDeleteSee what develops as the season changes.
Of course, it's very good that you do have some other sites for us to follow your creativity
Did you consult Buster about this?
xo
I've loved your artistic eye and amazing photos. I'll MISS your blog!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!! I love your city and yours was a love eye through which to view the city. I will miss you too!
ReplyDeleteGosh first things first Elizabeth - I promise to comment every single time I check in to see what you've posted, if you continue!
ReplyDeleteIt's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right?
There's much in life that pertains to supply and demand, so, if we demand - you supply?
You know I jest dear Elizabeth - I will miss About New York, it was the perspective and your individual slant you put upon your photos that was so attractive.
Oh, I've had a thought - you shan't retire BUSTER, will you??? :)
x er, perhaps BUSTER could go further afield than the Dog Park!
well, I've certainly enjoyed your views and comments from NYC, thank you for those. I will come see you over at the other blog now! I'm glad you aren't leaving altogether.
ReplyDeleteI shall miss you but will try to get over to your other blog.
ReplyDeleteBuh bye, have fun over there at the grownups table.
ReplyDeleteI will certainly miss your blog! It was nice to see the city from your perspective, and when i visited, always looked for the places you mentioned. I hope you post every so often, anyway!
ReplyDeleteLinda E
Say it isn't so!!!!! I'm still missing the Moroccan blog. I don't read many blogs but I never miss your three. Wait, I mean two- the other one is Busters. Maybe it will be alright If you still include a lot of your wonderful N.Y. photos in your other blog. I know it's a lot of work so I understand.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
oh no....l will miss youxx please re-thinkxxxxlynda
ReplyDeleteYou know how we love Paris Breakfasts, well, I love your blog as much as that one, and imagine how we would feel if we didn't have PB to follow.
ReplyDeleteI will miss all your posts terribly. Your postings after H. Sandy were so needed, as are your snippets of everyday life. If you go, I wish you well.
What a perfect farewell shot, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building way in the background... But the "farewell" part is terrible ! Thank goodness you have so many other ways to channel your talents !
ReplyDeleteFondly,L.
No! One by one the best blogs are dying :-(
ReplyDeleteMy days have just got slightly greyer.
I'll miss your little vignettes of the city you so obviously love.
Take care.
Rob
Oh, but I will miss NYC through your eyes... *sniff*... Creativity like so much of life is cyclical... we support you in whatever you do. But so glad you'll be at your other blog from time to to. We'd miss you too much otherwise. :o) Wishing you HAPPY DAYS ((LOVE & HUGS))
ReplyDeleteNooo, please!!!
ReplyDeleteNunca me cansaré de ver fotos de NY, aunque las haya visto mil veces. Me encantarÃa que continuaras.
Como dice la canción: "please don´t go"
Saludos desde España!!
I really enjoyed your posts and pictures of NYC and of your doggie and all his friends. And your travels too. It's one of my favorites and I will miss it, thank you!
ReplyDeletePlease visit me for a sec if you get a chance on my blog. "ve been gone for a little while but am posting again.
I will miss you here. I never tire of seeing what you have posted.
ReplyDeletexo
But you are my favourite blogger! The perfect balance of words and pictures. I will miss you dreadfully. xx
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed visiting NY via your blog but I shall switch to your other. Take care.x
ReplyDeleteI found you here (or was it in Morocco?) and have been flipping back and forth between your blogs. I shall keep following the other one. It's a lot of work keeping one going, let alone multiples. I gravitate toward this one when feeling homesick for NYC but I enjoy the artsy photos on the other one too.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI understand your choice (I took a break of my blog times ago too...) but I will miss so much your stunning photos of New York! As you know, I love visiting NY vicariously through your eyes. Fortunately I will come to see dear Buster and see your pictures at "The World Examining Works" for sure!
Love,
Sonia.
