I am a complete sucker for the austere beauty of bare branches.
Here in the park in Northport Village, Long Island.
Here seen from the bus in the late afternoon somewhere in New Jersey.
In New Jersey too, as the sun was setting.
Union Square. Wednesday. |
Such parsnips as dreams are made on....like some small forest of animate
parsnip-creatures waving their arms in the air.
ABC Carpet |
And the very apotheosis of the Christmas cushion.
If you had this you really wouldn't have to bother with any other decorations at all......
Nice pictures of these trees:)
ReplyDeleteAlso liked the red pillow (I think it is).
Greetings, Berit.
Hello Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteI am recovering from a computer crash, and it's lovely to again have access to you great posts and pictures.
Yesterday morning I had an early start and was delighted to see a gorgeous sunrise. Wow!
xo
I agree with you on the beauty of the contrast of dark, bare branches against the sky. The New Jersey house looks like something from a Hopper painting. The parsnips do look like spooky creatures and the cushion is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWhile others all around me lament the lack of leaves, I'm looking up at powerful limbs reaching for the heavens with stark outlines and graceful curves. Love bare branches in winter and you're photographs capture the stark look wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteHello Elizabeth, love the cushion and not a huge fan of bare trees..if we see them bare here, means its dying as we dont have any seasons. Happy weekend and holidays too in case we missed each other the following week. Hugs to you...love/M
