Saturday

The other day it was so cold that the sun was pale and watery looking.

Today was much warmer.

With abundant sign of the season.

Trees to be chosen on 9th Avenue.

And the Santas were everywhere.

Looking very jolly indeed.

There were hats on the subway.

And carol singers too.

I envy the elf shoes.

Great merriment on Penn Station.

Chelsea Art

It's no good living within walking distance of all sorts of art galleries if one never looks in them except when they are closed or when taking the dog for a walk......

So when Isabel and Karen came to lunch we made a foray down 24th Street.

People looking at art fascinates me as much as the art itself.

A current really stunning exhibition in the vast space at Gagosian made me remember why I once used to like art a lot.

Of course people need to check their texts......

...... and consult the catalog. Wow!
Here one thinks of Emily Dickinson in an odd sort of way.

And here of Casper David Freidrich.

Here of some sort of matador, perhaps.

On quite a different note, my story Jane in Winter is being serialized a chapter a day here
The first chapter is up today.....

Reflections, Windows and a View

A window on 22nd Street with some odd reflective surface

reveals all the U-Haul truck waiting to haul someone's stuff .....somewhere......

Such elegant, tall windows on 20th Street.

Looking out of my study window, I see a worker on his way either up or down to/from the roof.
Rather nerve-wracking if you ask me.

A bakery in Chinatown on a Saturday evening.

My main blog is now here

From Above

The kids are having a wonderful party in a room from which the roof has been removed.

There seems to be a preponderance of girls....... and how quiet the level below is in contrast.

Then night fell and the almost full moon rose over the Chelsea Hotel.

Yellow Hat Weather/Celebration

It was beastly cold yesterday. In the afternoon we took a walk through Chelsea.

A. bought a hat on 9th Avenue --like the one on the left. Now he looks as if he is in the film Fargo. At least his head is warm.

This retro taxi was waiting for someone on 22nd Street.

Quite soon it will be my birthday, then R.'s, so we were taken out for dinner to a very lovely place where this cool dessert above arrived. Yum!

We had all eaten so much, we decided to walk home up 9th Avenue.
A good opportunity to play with the new camera.
