Season's Greetings!

Well, the big fellow has arrived and is hawking Christmas trees outside Rite Aid on 9th Avenue.

He drives down from Alaska at Thanksgiving and heads home to get back to work on Christmas Eve.

All the little local shops and restaurants are getting decked out for the season. Here the French crepe place

here the deli. The little red Winterberries are a new one on me - and very pretty.

Even the vegetarian place is getting a little bit merry.

Ah! holly berries outside my favorite house on 21st St

and Buster's friend Oliver outside the now-closed and much lamented Empire Diner.

PS  Big excitement my book web site is finally up now four of my books are available on Kindle. To celebrate, I'm having a Kindle countdown on Ruth and Gisela (first edition was called A Fortunate Child). You can get it today for only $2.99 - after ten days it goes back up to $7.50

  1. I turn all warm inside at the sight of these Christmas colours. Cannot help myself! Two trees up here, one to go. Taking it slower this year, and ... surprise... enjoying myself all the more. Must remember this next year! xoxo

  2. I am so enjoying the Christmas Season this year. I always love and enjoy it but this year so much more for some reason.
A bit slow with my cards but the tree is going up Sunday or Monday so I am very happy.
I hope you know how much I enjoy reading your blog.

    cheers, parsnip

  3. I'm so glad to see more of The Big City through your eyes. It's so nice to see the beauty and the cheer instead of the darkness and grit portrayed so often in television and movies from that setting. It's always fun to see the bright flowers and friendly store fronts. Christmas Greetings to you from Idaho!

And I have not yet started your book, but I would like to over Christmas break. Yes, isn't it wonderful to curl up with a good book on a wintry day?
