We have a better sort of Monday morning than most people.
We reverse commute out to the 'burbs.
The Long Island Railroad is a very good venue for sleeping (did it myself for years).
The very platform I used to hang out on.
The green of a backyard and a heart
and a kitchen chair.
A very chic outfit
then more trains
and a return to the city
and the picturesque but numbing subway.
Woops, don´t know what happened to my comments.......
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a young boy, I also had a toy train with station, tunnel and a lot of carriages. Now I only like to travel on trains, not playing with them :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant Monday- and two darling companions to spend it with.
ReplyDeleteI've only been on a train once in my whole life and that was a train to Chicago a couple years ago. It's a fun way to travel, but of course, an Amtrak is not a subway. Your photos and words remind me of Eloise and that's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Elizabeth, I very much like the look of your Monday.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful children appear between the trains!
xo
What an enviable train set, our grandson would love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful baby too.
What a lovely way to spend a Monday.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Love you Monday story Elizabeth. ....especially the photos of the beautiful small creatures you see on your journey.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good trip!
ReplyDeleteGretchen is positively gorgeous! Lucky Grandma and Grandpa!!! xxxx
ReplyDeleteGlimpses that strike me, simply and profoundly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful baby. Kiss to her too.
It's lovely to go a different direction on Monday mornings these days...or even to go nowhere at all...I do love being retired.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful reason to go in the direction you were going! Much better than to the office to start the work week.
