The End of this Blog....

What super kind comments from so many people. I'm really touched. My other blog which is also a bit about New York but also about books and art  is here. There is a thing to check if you want to follow it. I will be trying to keep up with all my blogger blog chums too. Anyway...

I went up to the roof this afternoon and took a photo of the Empire State Building.

Then I looked down and took a photo of people crossing the street.

I noticed how many berries were on the tree on the roof.

After that I picked some dill and salvia, two zinnias and a couple of blades of grass, which I took downstairs and photographed on the black table that was left here by a friend six years ago.

These roses are over life-sized - as is the oregano.  After that I decided that I have run out of things to put in this blog. After over 841 posts and 298,863 page views, enough is definitely enough. This blog was mostly about New York; my other one The World Examining Works is more about fruit and flowers and family and hasn't got a proper theme at all except to show pictures of things.
Blogger is easy to manage, but, to my mind at least, Typepad is better looking. What fun it's been!

  1. Elizabeth! Now wait just a second. The rules are as follows: "If a blogger decides to terminate blogging, that said blogger must give, at a minimum, a six month notice."

See, it's right there in the Blogger handbook!

  7. Elizabeth, I understand this..I miss the energy of the 'old' art blogging. I am just as much to blame as anything else...less and less time to go visiting. I am thankful for IM. Perhaps I should join the fb craze but miss the intimacy of our art blogs.

    RIP About New York

  11. Well Elizabeth, I know that you've been considering this move for a while, but my greedy self does wish that you'd continue to show us some more About New York.

See what develops as the season changes.

Of course, it's very good that you do have some other sites for us to follow your creativity

Did you consult Buster about this?

  14. Gosh first things first Elizabeth - I promise to comment every single time I check in to see what you've posted, if you continue!
It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right?
There's much in life that pertains to supply and demand, so, if we demand - you supply?
You know I jest dear Elizabeth - I will miss About New York, it was the perspective and your individual slant you put upon your photos that was so attractive.
Oh, I've had a thought - you shan't retire BUSTER, will you??? :)
x er, perhaps BUSTER could go further afield than the Dog Park!

  19. Say it isn't so!!!!! I'm still missing the Moroccan blog. I don't read many blogs but I never miss your three. Wait, I mean two- the other one is Busters. Maybe it will be alright If you still include a lot of your wonderful N.Y. photos in your other blog. I know it's a lot of work so I understand.

  21. You know how we love Paris Breakfasts, well, I love your blog as much as that one, and imagine how we would feel if we didn't have PB to follow.
I will miss all your posts terribly. Your postings after H. Sandy were so needed, as are your snippets of everyday life. If you go, I wish you well.

  30. I found you here (or was it in Morocco?) and have been flipping back and forth between your blogs. I shall keep following the other one. It's a lot of work keeping one going, let alone multiples. I gravitate toward this one when feeling homesick for NYC but I enjoy the artsy photos on the other one too.

  31. Hi Elizabeth,
I understand your choice (I took a break of my blog times ago too...) but I will miss so much your stunning photos of New York! As you know, I love visiting NY vicariously through your eyes. Fortunately I will come to see dear Buster and see your pictures at "The World Examining Works" for sure!
    Love,
    Sonia.
